A newborn and a hectic schedule is no excuse to cut your ties with a proper skincare routine, so next time when you’re short on time, either simplify your steps or take my example and use multitasking skincare products. I always reach for a day cream that’s formulated with SPF so that I can cut a step (and an additional product) out of my daily skincare routine.
In the morning, just stick to the basics by cleansing your complexion and applying a day cream with SPF (the higher, the better) to help keep your skin protected from UV rays.
Set aside a few extra minutes in the evening to apply a mask. Before Noah’s night feed, I apply a thin layer of Elemis Herbal Lavander Repair Mask (twice a week) – I particularly love this mask because I can use it as a special overnight treatment, too. It’s also ideal for sensitive and blemish-prone skin. In all honesty, I haven’t had any breakouts or dry skin since I started using it over a month ago, so it’s a keeper!
All the ingredients in the Nessa Nipple SOS balm are 100% organic. Better yet, is lanolin and fragrance-free, meaning that you don’t have to worry about washing yourself off before a feed, saving you time and energy. Unlike other products that I’ve tried since I started my breastfeeding journey, this particular balm from NESSA has a thin texture that glides on without a lot of rubbing. Plus, I haven’t noticed any greasy spots that are sometimes left on clothing after use.
It’s also a great multitasking product, it can be used on hands, nails, lips, elbows or any other dry bits. You can even treat a sore baby bottom with it. Need I say more?
I’m sure that all mama out there would agree that moisturizing your skin after every shower or bath you take is absolutely impossible. And that’s why I simply love the Elemis Skin Nourishing Milk Bath! Yes, it’s pricey but worth every single penny.
The unique milk protein base will leave your skin satin soft and supple, meaning that you won’t need to apply a nourishing cream after your bath. It’s suitable for use during pregnancy (I used it religiously throughout my pregnancy) and for babies over 6 months.
That’s all I can think of right now. But if you have any must-haves of your own, please leave them in a comment below.
