On the menu
Taking pride of place on the menu is the Red King Crab, caught just once a year (to preserve the stocks) from the cold waters of the Northern part of the Atlantic Ocean. Served on ice or simply baked with butter and thyme, to allow the flavours of this sweet, succulent meat to shine through.
A whole Red King Crab to share is not the most affordable of dishes (£89/kg), but if you’re after a more purse-friendly crab speciality I can’t recommend the King Crab Bisque Soup or the Singapore Chilli Crab enough.
The atmosphere
Located at a stone thrown away from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street, Fancy Crab is a beautiful restaurant, with a laid-back and welcoming atmosphere completed with a chic interior – lots of blue leather, gold and nautical details.
For main course I ordered the King Crab Fettuccine – great portion size and lovely taste, although I would have preferred the pasta to be more ‘al dente’. My partner had the Fancy King Crab Burger with potato fries and coleslaw – a well balanced and executed dish, full of sublime flavours.
Plan your visit
My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary there a few weeks back and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was outstanding and so was the service! If you’re looking for a truly luxurious lunch or dinner experinece, Fancy Crab is a must!
