Getting into the festive spirit with Iceland Christmas Food

One of the absolute best things about Christmas is, without any doubt, the food. Whether you’re feeding your family and friends or simply cooking for two, why not let Iceland help you entertain them with ease?

From the traditional turkey with all the trimmings to the delicious fish and seafood selection – perfect for your Boxing Day buffet, there are so many luxury dishes to suit every taste, all sourced and prepared with the care and high standards you’d expect from Iceland.

Sampling Iceland’s luxury Christmas Food

Last week I was invited to visit their headquarters in Wales and sample their luxury Christmas Food selection. We also got to meet their Award Winning chef, Neil Nugent, who showed us how to prepare lobster tacos using Iceland’s Luxury Canadian Lobster Tails. At only £11 for 2, these lobster tails are a luxury treat at a bargain price, easy to cook, succulent and full of flavours. They’re definitely going in my basket for Christmas!

There’s nothing quite like a whole turkey as the centerpiece to a traditional Christmas dinner. To impress your guests without spending all day in the kitchen, try Iceland’s Luxury Gilded Turkey with a Mustard and Honey Glaze, a show-stopper dish ready to pop into the oven once thoroughly defrosted. Who says cooking has to be stressful?

We all enjoy a drink or two this time of the year and Iceland also stock a fantastic selection of festive drinks, including the finest Prosecco, smooth Irish Cream Liqueur and Port along with an extensive range of wines and soft drinks. Roast beef is one of the easiest dishes to match with wine, so why not try Casillero del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon, an elegant medium-bodied red with black cherry flavours, complemented by hints of coffee and dark chocolate.

It wouldn’t be Christmas without mince pies, right? All butter pastry with plump vine fruits laced with brandy and cider – ours were accompanied by a delicious Mince Pie Martini.

No party is complete without something sweet to round off your celebration meal. Despite being frozen, Iceland’s desserts are sure to impress and can easily rival any other luxury food brands out there. Minus the price tag, of course!

Highlights? The Raspberry & Pistachio Layered Pavlova is a sensational Christmas dessert that looks as great as it tastes.
