Baking and decorating our house for Easter

Easter will have a different feel for most of us this year, but we are trying to be positive and still make the most of it at home. Although we won’t have any visitors (Easter Bunny can still come for tea, of course), we baked some cookies and decorated the house with the most charming hand-felted decorations from White Stuff.

Baking is a fun activity for the little ones and I try to get Noah involved as often as I can. Sure, it’s messy but that’s ok! If flour goes flying or an egg hits the floor, take a deep breath, smile and carry on!

For these delicious Easter biscuits, I have followed a simple, 4 ingredients recipe from Sainsbury’s and used some fun cookie cutters (both the Easter Bunny and the Flower Cookie Cutter are by Meri Meri and available to shop on White Stuff).

Once the biscuits were in the oven, I started dressing up the table. The star of my table setting is, undoubtedly, my Pussy Willow Easter tree decorated with these colorful hanging hatched chicks. Have to keep the hurricane vase away from Noah’s curious little hands though!

I love tables adorned with greenery, in particular Eucalyptus runners, but I had to improvise giving the current situation so I used two charming hand-felted Easter egg garlands to create a beautiful centerpiece.

Whether you’re hosting a virtual Easter lunch on Zoom or a smaller celebratory meal with your family, bring a touch of elegance to your table with your best plates, glasses and cutlery. It might seem silly, but there is no harm in using your finest dinnerware set while in lockdown. Happy Easter from our family to yours!
