Mules If you only invest in one pair this Summer, make it a pair of mules. Trust me when I say, you’ll wear these day in and day out. My favourite? This stunning pair by Malone Souliers with mesh detailing that would look stunning with a ruffled mini dress.

Mid-heel ‘floss’ sandals No item says Summer quite like a pair of sandals – look for mid-heel styles with thin and minimal straps you can last an all-day in.

White trainers are an all-year-round favourite – be it jeans or dresses, there’s no Summer outfit that can’t be paired with. I particularly love these canvas trainers by Adidas – they’re comfortable, good-looking and take all the fuss out of choosing what to wear first thing in the morning.

Thick-strap sandals are having a major fashion moment – the obsession started thanks to Chanel’s quilted pair and luckily for us, the high-street followed suit. Added these Kurt Geiger sandals to my shopping basket and I’ll be wearing them with a silky slip dress.
