5 tips for setting up a pretty table for brunch
We’re seeing a big trend right now in sophisticated brunch parties thrown for different occasions. Hosting the perfect brunch can sometimes feel overwhelming. First you have to think about the food, then comes the table setting and making sure your guests are enjoying themselves.

This inspired me to host a beautiful pink and gold-tinted brunch for my family to relax and catch up over some good food and wine; with a little (read big) help from Amara. I’ve recently been introduced to Amara, home to over 300 of the world’s most luxurious homeware brands. It was love at first (erm) click!

Not only do they offer good quality, quirky and charming homeware for a spectrum of prices, but they also pay so much attention to their customer service and delivery. I received my order within 2 days (just in time for my family brunch), all items carefully wrapped.

I hope some of these tips will help you to set a pretty table without feeling overwhelmed or stressed.

  1. Choose a theme. I always find it easier if I choose a theme and a colour palette. No matter how large or small the gathering, setting a theme will impress your guests and will also help you to create a consistent look from start to finish. Make sure you choose a theme that represents your personal style or the season you’re in – floral, nautical or tropical themes are always a hit.

  2. Be organized. Being organized is the key to hosting a successful brunch. You’ll be less stressed on the day of the event, it’s a promise! Before any event, clean your tableware and check if any cracked or chipped piece needs to be replaced. Make a list of tableware and decorative items you’ll need to buy, such as glassware, linens, candles and flowers.

  3. Small pops of colour. Some of the nicest brunch tables I’ve seen have had small pops of colour. Mixing a light-neutral palette with pops of pastels will add a refined and undeniably romantic feel to your brunch party.

  4. Mix it up. Don’t stick to one type of vessel or one style of setting – mix it up. Combine a variety of complementary (but not matching) dishes, glasses and platters with the same motif, such as florals or stripes, for a fun and stylish table setting. For my family brunch, I opted for the simplest dinner set and let the gold accents take center stage. White tableware is the perfect canvas for your set up as you can get as creative as you want to.

  5. Finishing touches. What makes a table setting memorable is undoubtedly the finishing touches. Floral arrangements, luxurious candles or place cards will distinguish your table and impress your guests.
