Spritz your last days of Summer!

With the last days of Summer drawing near, it’s time to gather friends and family and soak up the last rays of sunshine while we still can.

And if your budget doesn’t allow traveling much, there are still plenty of ways to have fun in the city. In fact, the best Summer memories are often made up of small, simple pleasures. Take time to sip wine, read a good book, listen to music and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Summer just doesn’t seem like Summer without a picnic or a garden party. While I certainly do love a perfectly appointed table, dressed with loads of lovely linens and fabulous flatware, there’s something so fun about dining alfresco. Whether you’re on a bench in the middle of a park or sitting on the grass listening to music, picnics are one of my favourite adventures to plan.

In addition to picking the appropriate outfit, choosing and packing the perfect edibles is always fun too – charcuterie, macaroons, and wine for me! All you need is the perfect wine for the occasion  (drunk responsibly, naturally) and that’s where Gallo Family Vineyards can help. For occasions such as picnics, I prefer refreshing drinks and lower in alcohol. Gallo Family Vineyards has recently launched two new tasty drinks, fizzy fruit-flavoured: Pineapple & Passionfruit blended with Pinot Grigio, and Raspberry & Lime made with White Grenache.

I don’t know about you, but I love the sophistication of a glass of wine, but not always the taste. I prefer drinks with a fruitier and sweeter taste, and this new range bursting with vibrant fruity notes is definitely my favourite. A nice cold glass of wine and a dark, cool spot in the middle of a forest can provide a much-needed break from the hot Summer sun.

Many cities host a series of free concerts during the summer months, often with a wide variety of music. So grab a blanket or a lawn chair, pack a picnic, and sit back and enjoy! If you have kids and you find it hard to keep them busy with productive, meaningful projects, you can enjoy the last days of Summer by going to the farm to gather juicy strawberries or plump blueberries right from the field.

Summer can be either the most boring or most exciting time of the year. It all depends on you to make the most of it.
