Feel your mind unwind, your heart sing, your smile radiate and your fresh energy flow. The Hart Spa, situated just outside the village of Middleton (Birmingham) offers a luxuriously relaxing treat for your mind, body and soul.
The Hart Spa – first impressions
The Hart Spa is set in acres of green space, nestled amongst the plants and flowers of Coppice Garden Centre. The location couldn’t be better for a spa dedicated to natural wellness and well-being.
A calming atmosphere sets the tone as you enter the spa, which is decorated in wood. The space is small, but warm and inviting, almost encouraging you to sit back and relax. I really loved the aroma from their signature products – the room mist and candle, inspired from the plants within the garden centre.
What’s on offer
It’s a small spa which feels very private. There are 2 treatment rooms (one for couples), a hair studio and a nail bar with soft sofas and chairs.
The treatment rooms are clean and cozy, decorated with tea lights and minimal details. The spa has recently launched a signature massage experience that includes colour therapy and used with essential oils from their bespoke Monique Hart products.
There are several facials on offer at the spa, alongside massages and body treatments. Beauty finishing touches such as waxing, tinting, manicures and pedicures are also on the menu.
My treatments at The Hart Spa
I tried the Signature Lava Shell Therapy (60 minutes), followed by an Age Smart Treatment (60 minutes).
Monique, my therapist and the founder of The Hart Spa, listened carefully to my description of my lifestyle and obviously decided my tense shoulders needed some attention. The treatment began with Monique applying hot oil over my legs, gliding the marine polished sea shells smoothly over my body. During the massage, the shells were worked over my palms, arms, neck and shoulder area, with the focus of the massage surrounding pressure points.
Like most people who work on a laptop, I suffer from tension in my neck and shoulders and have had some bad experiences in the past. My therapist used sweeping movements with the palms and sides of her hands, her arms and her elbows to smooth along my spine and shoulder blades, ensuring the knots surrendered with ease.
I turned over for the facial which started with a cleanse. Monique then applied an antioxidant hydramist – an essential step to help hydrate and prep the skin for the moisturizer application. She then applied a hydrating masque, followed by a hand and arm massage whilst the mask took effect. She finished with an intensive moisturizer for my dry and devitalized skin.
I was impressed! I felt that the facial made a visible difference and would suit anyone who has begun to notice signs of ageing.
