Checked blazer trend – how to style it

Checked blazer trend – how to style it
Embrace this season’s trend for heritage check with my guide to key checked outwear pieces and how to style them. Popular for Spring/Summer, the check print has been carried through to Autumn/Winter and thankfully both the high street and more premium brands have plenty of refreshing colour combinations.

If you want to nod to the trend without fully diving in, a checked blazer paired with a crisp, white shirt is a good place to start with. Having replaced the perennial denim jacket, the checked blazer this season comes in a variety of styles and proportions. Double-breasted, cropped, boxy, oversized, slim fitted: the choice is yours.

Everyone went crazy for this ah-mazing PINKO double-breasted checked blazer during London Fashion Week when I first wore it. Confirming what I already knew that this is set to be the most worn piece from my wardrobe.

Tip Wear yours with high-rise jeans and heels for an elegant and sophisticated ensemble. Add a pop of colour, just like I did with my burgundy accessories.

Naturally, this piece lends itself to smart workwear thanks to its sleek, tailored fit, but this will look every bit as cool paired with a sweatshirt or a cozy knit and sneakers on the weekend, too. If you’re still not convinced (really, huh?), scroll down to see close-up just how seriously chic this PINKO checked blazer really is.

Oh, and before you ask, I’m wearing that shirt that you would have seen me wearing so often on Instagram. It’s a recent addition to my wardrobe from Coast ‘Friday’ collection, styled and modeled by Olivia Palermo. For the third season running, Coast has teamed up with Olivia, but this time around for a more casual collection.

There are some really versatile and budget-friendly pieces in this collection, so I highly recommend to have a look online. As ever, such an exclusive collection won’t stick around for long, so get it or regret it!
